Born and raised in the vibrant town of Kolwezi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Armelle grew up in a large household of nine, where she learned the importance of fostering strong relationships both at home and in the workplace. Her passion for technology was ignited early on, leading her to earn a diploma in Mathematics and Physics from Ukweli Institute, followed by a bachelor’s degree in System and Network Administration from ESISalama.
Armelle’s approach to her work goes beyond merely solving technical challenges. Whether she is collaborating on Kamoa’s network projects or troubleshooting issues with a positive attitude, she finds true fulfillment when teamwork flourishes and the workplace feels like a second home. Her journey to Kamoa Copper was unconventional; it began with an internship during an email migration project that showcased her exceptional problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills, ultimately leading to a permanent position with the team.
Outside of her professional life, Armelle enjoys exploring culinary pursuits. Her favorite comfort food, rice and beans, is a reminder of home and reflects her passion for bringing people together through shared experiences. Additionally, Armelle desires to explore the natural wonders and diverse cultures of eastern Congo, with a particular interest in Goma.
After a year at Kamoa, Armelle continues to inspire her colleagues with her combination of technical expertise and infectious positivity. Her Kamoa and Ivanhoe Mines family is proud to support her, and we eagerly anticipate many more adventures and successes in her future.
Here’s to Armelle and the incredible journey ahead!
